Mayor Walters' vision
Mayor Walters Has A Plan To Keep Our Progress Going & Continue Moving Cuyahoga Falls Forward.
The Mayor is tremendously proud of what we have accomplished already by working together, but he also knows that there is still much work to be done.
Mayor Walters' vision for our future will capitalize on our strengths and community resources to make the Falls an even better place to live, work, raise a family, or enjoy retirement.
DESTINATION: CUYAHOGA FALLS
USA Today recently listed the Cuyahoga River as the top urban kayaking destination in the nation. Our annual kayak race attracts participants from dozens of states, and once the Gorge Dam is removed, Cuyahoga Falls will be home to more Class V rapids than anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains.
Mayor Walters will continue expanding recreational opportunities on the river, while ensuring that arts, culture, and entertainment options – from Blossom Music Center to downtown festivals – continue to thrive and abound in Cuyahoga Falls.
WALKABLE NEIGHBORHOOD SHOPPING & BUSINESS HUBS
Walkable neighborhood hubs provide jobs and convenient goods and services. The Mayor plans
to revitalize struggling local business areas while targeting new mixed-use growth where it will
most benefit nearby residents.
TAKING OUR OUTSTANDING PARKS SYSTEM TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Mayor Walters will continue enhancing our neighborhood parks with amenities like new tennis courts and dog parks, while upgrading equipment and expanding recreational opportunities for teenagers. A citywide system of trails for walking and biking could connect our 25 city parks with schools, business areas, and other points of interest.
CONTINUED JOB GROWTH & SMALL BUSINESS EXPANSION
Mayor Walters will continue the exponential growth of new small businesses under his administration. The Mayor has attended a record number of ribbon-cutting ceremonies and proudly displays a picture of each on his office wall.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
Mayor Walters is rolling out the red carpet for millennials and young professionals, and the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council has helped engage tomorrow’s leaders in the civic process.
